Obituary of Judy Fuschetto

Judith “Judy” Maryanne Buckman Fuschetto-Bernardsville 73, loved her garden, travel and long walks Judy Fuschetto, 73, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2014 after a long illness. She was in the company of family and friends at the time of her departure. She was born in Morris County, NJ to Dorothy and Walter Buckman. Judy and her sister Jean grew up in Mendham, NJ among much loved cousins and family. She graduated Morristown High School and St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing in Montclair. A caring and devoted nurse, she served on the staff of All Souls Hospital in Morristown. After marriage, she was proud to be a stay at home mother to her four children, Thomas, Susan, Sara and Shawn. An avid volunteer with the Girl Scouts, Judy became the Rolling Hills Girl Scout Council’s Outdoor Consultant. Beyond the satisfaction she derived from volunteering, she made treasured friends in scouting with whom she never lost touch. After the last of her children left for college, Judy re-joined the workforce as the early morning receptionist for the Somerset Hills YMCA, where she became a beloved member of the “Y" community and made many lifelong friends. She is survived by her son Thomas Fuschetto Jr. and his wife Maria de la Luz of McAllen, TX, daughter Sara Fuschetto and her partner Seth Goodman of Quincy, MA, son Shawn Fuschetto and his wife Betsy of Fayston, VT, step father Timothy Pierson and companion Hazel of Mendham, NJ, beloved grandchildren Nichole, Lindsay, Lucia, sister-in-law Lynne Pierson and family of Tewksbury, NJ, and ex-husband Thomas of Marlow, NH. Memorial visitation will be on Thursday, September 4th from 4-6 at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd, Mendham, NJ, followed by a 6pm reception at The Olde Mill Inn, 225 U.S. 202, Basking Ridge, NJ.
