I met Steve in Antarctica. A very kind and respectful man to his fellow travelers, crew and nature. I carried his birthday over in my calender all those years which I do with people who I don't want to forget about. I am sad to read of his passing on what would have been his 60th birthday. We are truly heartbroken and shocked to hear this news of Steve’s passing. We met Steve at the car dealership almost ten year’s ago. He was always a pleasure to speak to and a true joy to know. He was a genuine soul, a man of integrity and warmth. I’m lucky to have known Steve and he will be sadly missed. God bless you my friend! My deepest sympathy to his family…Steve was an amazing man!

I sadly just learned of the news when I called the Porsche dealership, as I do every few years and always work with Steve. I didn't know Steve well but we always had great conversations about the economy and he was a great guy and was well liked. Last year I was fortunate enough to head up to Vermont with Steve for the Porsche Driving School event and we had a great time. Very sad to hear the news and my deepest sympathys to the family.

Steve was an incredibly kind soul who did great work for the Porsche company. His love for cats is where we were able to connect. Sometimes he would call into our Call Center and ask fo rme so we can catch up, trade photos of our cats, and I would assist him with some of his customers. I greatly admired his photography.
I have had dealings with a lot of Porsche sales people all over the country, but Steve stood out because of his kindered spirit.

It is devastating to learn your loss; so sudden. You were to see our first child who was born a day before you passed away; you could not meet her.
We cannot forget your smile and ever willingness to help. You will live in your hearts forever.
Rest in peace.

My best wishes to family and friends of Steve. It was a pleasure knowing him and spending time with him at Maine puffin islands. He understood why Project Puffin was important immediately and his giving through his photography and gifts is deeply appreciated. Steve helped the Puffin Project at a time when we were just beginning and when our success was at its earliest hour. Now, the puffins are thriving and Steve has given again to keep the colonies healthy through gifts. This is all greatly appreciated. Somewhere I'm sure he is smiling knowing that he has continued to help his favorite birds.
Best wishes, Steve Kress

Dear Jacquie and Steve,
It was such a shock to learn of Steven's death. We had remained friends for all of these years and his passing leaves a hole in my heart. He was such a big presence in the lives of everyone he cared about, a deeply caring individual who was not afraid to put his heart and talent out in the world. He will be missed by so many, certainly by me.
My deepest sympathy for your loss,
Sherrilyn

We were so saddened to learn of Steve's passing. He was a great friend of Project Puffin, giving of his time and talent so generously. With his exceptional photographic skills and generous donation of usage of his work, he helped jump start our Adopt-A-Puffin program. In addition, the Avon inflatable boat donated by Steve and Jacquie is still in action ferrying Eastern Egg Rock interns from the power boat to the island.
I, personally, enjoyed working with Steven and would like everyone to know that his legacy will live on through the puffins of Eastern Egg Rock in Muscongus Bay, Maine.
Sincerest condolences from the entire Project Puffin crew.

I was very upset to learn of Steve's passing. Although It has been years since I last saw him, I will always remember Steve as a kind, compassionate and very popular person who always had a smile on his face and a caring disposition. It should also be mentioned that he was one heck of an athlete.
RIP Steve, you will be missed.
