Obituary of Diane Marie VanAkin

Diane Marie (Prezioso) VanAkin passed away at home on June 23, 2014 after a long illness. She was 72. Born in Brooklyn to the late Romeo and Marie (Cipriano) Prezioso, she was a resident of Bedminster. Diane was a member of the Bridgewater Garden Club, Bridgewater Women's Club, Washington Valley Garden Club, and the Red Hatters Club. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed scrapbooking. She is survived by her long-time companion Sid Lawson, her sister Carole P. Saunders and her husband Carleton E. Saunders III of Mendham; two nephews Gregory B. Saunders II and his wife Liza; and Carleton E. Saunders IV and his wife Eileen; and great nieces and nephews Kailee Marie, Carleton E. V, Sean Patrick and Sabrina Page. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Road, Mendham, NJ 07945. Memorial visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, June 26, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM, followed by a memorial service at 7:30 PM. Interment will be scheduled at a later date.
