Obituary of Dorothy Gacio

Dorothy Gacio passed away peacefully on June 8, 2014 at fellowship Village in Basking Ridge. She was 89. Born in West Virginia she moved to Newark NJ in the early 1940's. She married Edmond Gacio and lived in Irvington NJ for many years before settling in Mendham in 1976. She worked for Bambergers/Macys for over 40 years as a purchasing supervisor, retiring in 1996. She was a volunteer with the Deborah Hospital Auxiliary for a number of years. Dorothy was active and vibrant until her final days. She was predeceased by her sisters Sue and Alice, her brother Joe, and passed within hours of her youngest sister Corine. She is survived by Edmond, her devoted husband of 65 years, son Edward and daughter-in-law Carolyn Gacio; four nieces Sandra, Cynthia, Lori, Denise; one nephew Andy, and their families. She is also survived by her godchildren and cousins. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9-10am at The Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd., Mendham. Funeral Mass Thursday 10:30am at St. Joseph Church at 10:30am. Entombment Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge. In lieu of flowers donations to The Deborah Hospital foundation in her memory would be appreciated.
