Obituary of Constance M. Nienstedt

Mendham Twp. – Constance M. Nienstedt passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Morristown Memorial Hospital after a short illness. She was 82. Born in Orange NJ to the late Theodore and Anna (Kowaleska) Zachek on July 4, 1931, she was a resident of Mendham Township for over 50 years, also having lived in Virginia and spending summers in Green Pond (Rockaway Twp) NJ. Mrs. Nienstedt was a homemaker. She had been employed as a school teacher in New Jersey and in Virginia, was known as one of the originators of the Band Boosters of Mendham High School, had worked as a sales clerk for Epstein's Department Store in Morristown, and had worked as an administrative assistant for A T & T in Basking Ridge. She was predeceased by her son James in 2011. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, James, two sons; Ted (and his wife Donna) of North Carolina, and Henry (and his wife Carol) of Morristown; two daughters, Beth Bott and Virginia Nienstedt both of Mendham Twp.; a sister Edith Rockafellow of South Carolina, and eight grandchildren, Analise, Julianne, Jack, Andy, Frank, Tim, Joe, and Jon. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 4-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Assumption Parish, 91 Maple Avenue, Morristown, NJ 07960 with Rev. Kenneth Lasch officiating. Everyone is meeting at the church at 9:45 AM. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, NJ following Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are requested by the family to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN, or to the charity of one's choice.
