Obituary of Barbara Jane Gaestel

Barbara Jane Gaestel (Fritts), passed away April 18, 2014, during a health complication after a long history of medical issues. Barbara was born on September 5, 1948 and was raised in Chester, NJ. She graduated from West Morris Regional High School in 1967. Shortly after she married Daniel R. Gaestel on May 4, 1968 and settled in the Ironia section of Randolph Township where they lived for the past 44 years and raised their two daughters. Barbara worked locally at Bill's Luncheonette and Cumberland Farm's where she was known for her friendly engagement with customers. She was an active life member and past president of the Ironia Ladies Auxiliary. Barbara was best known for her strength, her big heart and her amazing positive attitude. She is survived by her husband Daniel R. Gaestel; two daughters; Annmarie L. Dye and her husband Brian of Budd Lake, Kim R. Gaestel of Belleville, IL; Grandsons: Kyle R. Gaestel and Cole Dye; and siblings Arlene Trelease, Otto B. Fritts III, Ronald Fritts, and Melodee Ritter. In lieu of flowers, Donations to Arthritis Foundation, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Disabled American Veterans (DAV) in her memory, would be appreciated. Visitation will be held at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Road, Mendham on Thursday, April 24th from 4-8 pm. Funeral Service Friday 7pm at the Budd Lake Chapel, Sand Shore Rd., Budd Lake with a repast to follow at the Ironia Fire Department.
