Obituary of Marvin Earl Marple

PEAPACK-GLADSTONE – Marvin Earl Marple passed away at home on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. He was 87. Born on May 20, 1926 to the late Marvin E. Marple and Beatrice Scott Marple in Grenloch NJ, he was a resident of Gladstone for almost 66 years. He was a tool and die maker for Hoglund Engineering in Berkley Heights for over 30 years, and was later employed by and retired from Thermoplastics Process Inc. of Stirling. Mr. Marple attended St. Brigid R. C. Church in Peapack for many years. He was a member of the Board of Health for Peapack-Gladstone Borough, a certified instructor for the National Rifle Association, a member of the Happy Rockers of Peapack-Gladstone Borough, a member of the St. Joachim and St. Anne Seniors group of St. James Church in Basking Ridge, and a 60-year member of Colonial Prospect Masonic Lodge #24 of Chester. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Josephine (Cipparulo); three daughters, Cynthia Behrens (William) of Califon, Kathleen Kocot (Edward) of Long Valley, and JoAnn Marple of Brick Twp.; four siblings, William Marple, Harold Marple, Dorothy Stewart, and Shirley Love; and four grandchildren, Melissa Lipovsky (Anthony), Cheryl Behrens, Timothy and Kevin Kocot. Funeral services will be from the funeral home on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 10:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Brigid R. C. Church, on Main Street in Peapack at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Monsignor Ed Puleo officiating. Interment will follow Mass at Holy Cross Cemetery on Mt. Airy Road in Basking Ridge.
