Obituary of James C. Carver, Jr., MD

James C. Carver Jr., M.D., passed away peacefully on April 4, 2014, at home in Bedminster, N.J. He was 83. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Bailey Funeral Home, 176 Main Street, Peapack, N.J. The Funeral Mass is Tuesday, 11 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, Peapack. Cremation will be private. Dr. Carver was a cardiologist in Montclair, N.J., at Mountainside Hospital for 30 years before retiring in 1995. He also worked at Roosevelt Hospital in New York, N.Y. Born in Queens, N.Y., he lived in North Caldwell, N.J., before moving to Bedminster 12 years ago. Dr. Carver served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Muhlenberg College and Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. His family will remember him as a loving husband, father, and grandfather who was a dedicated physician. Dr. Carver is survived by his wife, Anna Berrie Carver; two sons, James (Colleen) of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Jon (Larke) of Milbrae. He is also survived by his daughter, Marianne (Fred) Trent of Chester, N.J., and his grandchildren, Ethan and Isadora Trent and Sophia and Griffin Carver.
