Obituary of Alice E Willoughby

Alice Elizabeth Willoughby (nee Lee) of Stirling, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2014 at the Fr. Hudson Center for Hope Hospice in Elizabeth. She was 83. Born in Smithfield, NC she lived in Newark and Kearny, NJ before moving to Stirling 19 years ago. Her family will remember her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister who had a passion for life and strong faith in God. She was a spirited woman who left an impression on everyone she met - from the people she touched with her wry wit and sharp memory over her lifelong career as a waitress to the nurses and doctors who helped care for her most recently. Alice was a fighter who inspired others with her positive attitude about living. She was predeceased by her husband Lester "Lew" and her daughter Brenda Willoughby. Survivors include her son Stephen R. Willoughby and his wife Linda of Union; two sisters Ruby Adams of North Carolina and Ora Lindabury of Denville, NJ; 4 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren include Renee & Rob Savoy and son Jake; Stephen & Michelle Willoughby and their children Daniel, Julia, and Rachel; Brittany (Willoughby) King; Sherry & Paul Nigro and their children Grace and Matthew; and Danielle Willoughby and her children Hope, Mikey and Noelle. Visitation will be held on Thursday March 20, 2014 at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd., Mendham from 12 noon until 1:30pm. Funeral Service 1:30pm in the funeral home.
