Obituary of Theodore Ezyske

Theodore "Ted" Ezyske, 89, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2014, at Holly Manor in Mendham, N.J. Born in Bridgewater, N.J., Ted lived in Highland Park, N.J., and Long Beach Island, N.J., before moving to Mendham two years ago. He served in the Merchant Marine during World War II from 1944 to 1946 and then in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1948. Ted was a sheet metal worker for Union Local 027 of Central and Southern New Jersey for 64 years. He was an avid fisherman and loved to fish off the jetties of Barnegat Light, and earned himself the nickname of "Jetty Teddy" by the local newspaper. Ted strived to live a simple, healthy life, and was a man of pure heart and love of family. His family remembers sharing many vacations together and summers on LBI. Ted was predeceased by his wife, Elma, and sons, John and Richard. He is survived by his late son John's wife, Marianne Ezyske; son, Gerard Ezyske, and daughter, Mary Regina Ezyske Zuppa. Ted is also survived by his grandchildren, Kelly (Michael) Roman, Casey Ezyske, Dawn Pascale, Kimberly Ezyske, Jared Ezyske, and Ashley Zuppa, and seven great-grandchildren.
