Obituary of Stanley J. Serdakowski

Stanely J. Serdakowski passed away peacefully on February 27, 2014 at Holly Manor in Mendham. He was 84. Born in Newark, NJ he lived in the Iron Bound Section of Newark before moving to Gladstone in 1967. He served in the Army during the Korean War from 1951-1953. Stanley was a Machinist for Superior Air Products in Newark for 31 years before retiring in 1984. He also worked as a courier for Peapack-Gladstone Bank from 1985 until 2006. He was very active in the community food drive and his photo was included on the Cheerios cereal box as a Hunger Fighting Hero in 2008. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Rita and visited 48 of the 50 states along with many other countries. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rita Moore Serdakowski. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 22, 2014 at 11am at the Washington Valley Chapel, 57 Kahdena Rd., Morristown, NJ.
