Obituary of Irene L. Purcell

Irene L. Purcell passed away on Jan 1, 2013 in Somerset, NJ. She was 72. Born in New York City, she lived in Valley Stream and Smithtown NY before moving to Peapack in 2000. Irene worked as a community service worker for CPS in Long Island while her two sons were young and then as a Nurse in Riverhead, NY. She later worked as a Pharmaceutical Technician for CVS Pharmacy in Chester, NJ. She was an active member of the Happy Rockers group in Peapack and also volunteered at the Second Chance Shop in Gladstone. Irene was known in her community as a person who loved to do crafts and was quite talented with her skills. She is survived by her two sons Christopher Purcell (Debbie) of Alexandria, VA, and Mathew Purcell of Long Island; two brothers Donald (Vicki) Gusso of Boston, MA and James (Kathy) Gusso of Roanoke, VA; Three Sisters Nancy (Ed) Gaynor of Baldwin, NY, Elizabeth Brenna (Tom) of Damascus, PA and Christine Cleaver (Gary) of Easton, PA. She is also survived by her two grandchildren Grace and Genevieve Purcell and many nieces and nephews. A memorial Service will be held on March 1 at 1 PM Bailey's Funeral Home in Peapack, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Matheny Medical and Educational Center in Peapack, NJ.
