Obituary of Robert J. Korec

Robert J. Korec, Sr. died suddenly on Oct. 24, 2013 at Morristown Medical center. He was 80. Born in Queens, NY he lived in Wantagh, NY before moving to Mendham in 1975. He also maintained a residence in Venice, FL. Bob received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Brooklyn Polytech. Bob served in the Navy from 1951 to 1955 and was a member the Venice FL American Legion Post 159 for many years. He was a founding member of the Mendham Area Senior Housing. Bob worked at AT&T in Basking Ridge for 42 years before he retired in 1990. His family will remember him as loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Survivors include his wife Mary Carney Korec, three sons Robert J. Jr. of Mendham, Michael A. Korec of Budd lake and James F. Korec of Mendham, two daughters Mary Palkowetz of Harrisburg, PA and Patricia Feyrer of Long Valley, two brothers Anthony and Donald Korec and one sister Mary Seaman of Egg Harbor Twp, NJ. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. All services are private. Arrangements by the Bailey Funeral Home of Mendham.
