Obituary of Margaret M. Dick

Margaret M. Dick died peacefully surrounded by family on October 5, 2013 at Holly Manor Center after a long illness. She was 87 years old. Peggy Dick was the daughter of Andrew McCarthy and Brigid Ryan McCarthy. She was born Nov. 1, 1925 in Chicago, IL, and was the eldest of five children. As the oldest child after graduating high school Peggy worked as a legal secretary and assistant to the VP of Sales at Sears Roebuck and Co. to help support her family. It was in Chicago that she met her husband Norman and they were married on August 21, 1954. They settled in Mendham Township, NJ in 1972 after having moved many times across the country for her husband's work and growing their family of eight. She was predeceased by her sister Patsy. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Norman J. Dick, Jr.; three sons; Norman J. Dick III, and his wife Kelley of Bozeman, MT, Kevin Dick and his wife Lori of Flanders and Bryan Dick of, RI, three daughters; M. Barbara Jensen and her husband Ralph of Califon, Peggy Crosby and her husband Chris of Morris Plains and Tricia Murphy and husband Joe of Los Angeles, CA, two sisters Marie and Betty and one brother Tom McCarthy all of IL. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren Jared, Lindsay and Brennan Dick, Travis, Eva and Dana Jensen, Sean, Andrew, Colin and Paige Crosby, and Reese Murphy.
