Obituary of Robert A. Mosher

Robert A. Mosher Sr. passed away on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013. He was 75 years old. Arrangements are by the Flynn Funeral Home, 23 Fords Ave., Fords, N.J. 08863, (732) 626-0358, flynn funeral.com. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at 9:30 a.m. from St. Andrew's R.C. Church, 224 Avenel St., Avenel, N.J. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia, N.J. Born in Newark, N.J. on Dec. 6, 1937, to the late George and Lillian (Oberle) Mosher, Mr. Mosher was a resident of Menlo Park Terrace (N.J.) for many years. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1955 to 1958. He was employed by Telcordia Communications for 17 years before retiring in 2011. He was previously employed by Verizon as an installation supervisor for 33 years, retiring from there in 1991. Mr. Mosher was a member of American Legion Post 5 in Rahway, N.J., and was the current Commander. He was also a member of the V.F.W. Post 6061 of Colonia, and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Iselin, N.J. Mr. Mosher is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ruth Lang Mosher; two sons, Robert A. Mosher Jr. and his wife, Lisa, and Michael Mosher and his wife, Suzanne; two daughters, Patricia Mosher Curtis and her husband, Kevin, and Susan Mosher DeFriest and her husband, Kevin; four grandchildren; seven nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joyce and Raymond Talarico.
