Obituary of Richard W. Clinedinst

Richard WendelParsonsClinedinst died peacefully at home in Basking Ridge onSaturday August 3, 2013. He was 82. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he also lived in Connecticut and Indiana before moving toBasking Ridge 50 years ago. Mr. Clinedinst was a 1951 graduate of The Hackley School in Tarrytown, NY, and attended Syracuse Universityand ultimately received his BS Degree from Clark University in 1956. Mr. Clinedinst worked with Scoville Manufacturing and Phelps Dodge Copper before beginning his real estate career in 1969. Initially, he started with Harold Thomson in Basking Ridge, then in 1976 became co-owner and president of Booth Agency Real Estate in Bernardsville NJ with his wife Ann. He retired in 1995. He also enjoyed lifelong avocation working in hisantique business Stagecoach Antiques. He was a member of the Certified Real Estate Broker of the National Association of Realtors and servedon many committees of the Somerset County Board of Realtors. He was an active member of RELO, The International Real Estate Network, and was consistently acknowledged as a top producer.He was a member ofHilltop Presbyterian Church in Mendham. His family will remember him as a loving husband, father and grandfatherwho was the all-time story teller. He lived for a funny story and a good joke. He became expert in fine American Weapons and firing systems, was an excellent competitive pistol team member with H & R, as well as individual competition shooting in the national arena and taught firearm safety in the Boy Scouts of America. He volunteered his "gift of gab" as auctioneer in Bernards Township Kiwanis and Ducks Unlimited. He was a member of Congdon-Overlook Masonic Lodge in Bernardsville. Survivors include his wife of 60 years Ann Merritt Clinedinst;a daughter Nancy ClinedinstWisneiskiboth of Basking Ridge anda son John Clinedinst of Bernardsville and New York. He is alsosurvived by his five grandchildren. A memorial Service will be held at The Hilltop Presbyterian Church, HilltopRoad., Mendham on Sunday August 18, 2013 at 2:00 PM.
