Obituary of Alice Cillo

Alice M Cillo (nee Carey) of Mendham died peacefully on Friday July 5, 2013. She was 90. Born in Madison to Joseph and Alice Carey, she has lived in Mendham since 1950. She was a 1940 graduate of Bayley Ellard High School. Alice worked at A&P in Madison for 10 years before she began raising her family. Her family will remember her as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose loving kindness was felt by everyone who knew her. Survivors include her husband of 63 years Pietro “Pete” Cillo of Mendham, two sons; Peter Cillo, Jr. (Mary) of Mendham, and John Cillo (Janet) Great Meadows, two daughters; Alice Cillo of Mendham and Philomena Scarpone (Daniel) of Kunkletown, PA, one granddaughter Ashton Cillo, two brothers Vince Carey (Peggy - deceased) of Chatham and Rev. Msgr. Leo Carey of Chester, two sisters Helen Spano (Nicole - deceased) of Carteret and Veronica Jones (George – deceased) of Madison. Predeceased by brothers Philip and Susan Carey, William and Lucy Carey, Edward and Roberta Carey and sister Catherine Carey. She is also survived by Rose and Sal Grievo of Mendham, Anthony and Dolores Cillo of Middlesex, Dr. Joseph Cillo (Dolly – deceased) of Chester, Theresa and Jack of Smith of Mendham, Aniello Cillo (Casey - deceased) of Bracey Va, James and Gerry Cillo of Mendham. Predeceased by Marie and Peter Pennimpede, Ann and Joseph Fondaco. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd., Mendham. Funeral Mass Tuesday 10:30am in St. Joseph Church Mendham. Interment St. Joseph Church Cemetery.
