Obituary of Doris C. Padovano

Doris Jean Padovano (nee Capasso), entered into heaven on May 6, 2013 at St. Luke's Warren Hospital in Philipsburg surrounded by her loving family. She was 80 years old. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Friday, May 10, 2013, from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm at Bailey Funeral Home, 176 Main Street, Peapack, NJ 07977. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday May 11, 2013 at 9:30 am at St Brigid Church, Main Street, Peapack, NJ. Entombment will be private. She resided in Union, New Providence and Scotch Plains, before settling in Stewartsville for the last 12 years. She was a teacher for many years before working for A & P in Hampton, where she was affectionately known by all as Grandma. Doris will be remembered for her out spoken and sassy personality and her love for the beach, whether at the Jersey Shore or visiting her brother and sister-in-law in Florida. She was predeceased by her long time companion Michael Vella. She is survived by her son, Anthony Padovano Jr (Athena) of Gladstone; her daughter Lisa D'Alessandro (Joseph) of Stewartsville; her brother Ralph V. Capasso, Jr (Frances) of Treasure Island, FL.; Dominick Vella (Tish) of Brick; and Barbara Hoptay (Danny) of Farmingdale, NJ. She is also survived by her three adored and wonderful grandchildren, Brianna and Michael D'Alessandro and Anthony Vasilios Padovano, niece Barbara Daniels (Troy) of Calf; nephew Ralph V. Capasso III (Amy) of Mass. and many other loving family members and friends.
