Obituary of V. James Spiniello

V. James Spiniello passed away at home on Monday, April 29, 2013 after a long illness. He was 85. Arrangements are by the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd., Mendham, N.J. 07945 (973) 543-4720 www.baileyfuneralhomes.com. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, May 2, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Friday, May 3, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. Entombment will be private at the request of the family. Born in Orange, N.J., to the late Virgilio and Cristina (D'Archi) Spiniello on April 12, 1928, Mr. Spiniello was a resident of Short Hills, N.J., before moving to Bernardsville, N.J., 40 years ago. He was the owner/chief executive officer of Spiniello Construction Company, a family business established in 1922, in Morristown, N.J., for nearly 50 years before retiring in 1995. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving as a 2nd lieutenant with the Corps of Engineers during the Korean War. He will be remembered as very generous man and gave freely from his heart, using his time and skills. He is survived by his wife, Judith (Slohoda); two daughters, Christine Spiniello of Lebanon Township. N.J., and Kathryn Fasano and her husband, Lorens, of Mendham Township, N.J.; his sister, Gloria Fernandi of Millington, N.J.; his stepson, Christian Merlino and his wife, Kristen; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in his memory to the Vocationist Sisters, 88 Brooklake Rd., Florham Park, N.J. 07932.
