Obituary of Ruth Viola Krell
Ruth Krell passed away peacefully at King James Care Center in Chatham, New Jersey. She was 89 years old.
Ruth was born in Yonkers and was raised in Piermont, NY. She worked at The Equitable before marrying Peter Krell in 1958. Ruth and Peter moved to Nanuet, NY and were both important members of their community. Ruth spent much of her time volunteering at Germonds Church in New City, NY. She was on the Board of Deacons and especially enjoyed leading the pastoral care. She was a longtime member of the Communion Guild. Ruth served as President of the Nanuet Women’s Club for several years. As much as she loved her volunteer work, Ruth’s greatest joy was her only son, Peter. Few conversations could be had without the mention of him and Ruth was infinitely proud of his achievements. Ruth is survived by her son Peter, daughter-in-law Kathy and their two grandsons Spencer and Cameron of Basking Ridge, her beloved sister Marion Keller of Mountainside, her niece Pam (Jeff) Hulse of Sparrow Bush, NY, niece Nancy (Edward) Jacobs of Middletown, NY, nephew Craig (Robert) McElroy of Manhattan and her favorite cat Spunky. She will be missed by numerous other cousins and friends. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Peter, sister Helen McElroy and a grandchild, Aidan Peter Krell.
