Peter L. Breves, 59, resident of Mendham Peter Laurence Breves passed away peacefully at his home in Mendham on Dec. 21, 2012. He was 59. Peter was born on April 27, 1953 in Quincy, MA. Peter earned a B.A. in English from Syracuse University in 1975 and moved to Ridgefield, CT in 1986 with his wife and two children. Living in Mendham since 2007, Peter was a semi-retired insurance executive. Aside from taking great interest in the activities of his children, Peter enjoyed many hobbies including model railroading, baseball, and Civil War and Hudson River School art history. A fluent speaker of German, Peter maintained a strong connection with his extended family in Germany since childhood. He enjoyed recent trips to Hawaii, South Carolina, Massachusetts and Maryland to visit his children. Peter will be remembered as a loving father. Survivors include his mother Inge Breves of Mendham, one son Jason Breves and his wife Elly of Northampton, MA, one daughter Nicole Breves of Baltimore, MD, and one brother Thomas Breves, his wife Pamela, and their four children of Bethesda, MD. A memorial service will be held on January 12, 2013 at 11:00am at the Hilltop Presbyterian Church in Mendham.
