Obituary of Jerome Kessler
JEROME CHARLES KESSLER,
Mendham resident, businessman
Jerry Kessler died on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at the NJ Veterans Home in Menlo Park after a long illness. He was born in Newark, New Jersey and attended Newark Fine & Industrial Arts, where he studied painting. He was a fine watercolor painter. His first job was at Tension Envelope, but he quickly founded and was President of Eastern Envelope Inc., in Flanders NJ, an east coast envelope supplier for 40 years. He resided in Mendham Township and Manasquan for many years. He served his country in and was a decorated veteran of the Korean conflict.
Jerry had a life-long passion for politics and served numerous charitable and political causes, including: as Town Council President and Committeeman in RockawayTownship, and was nominated as a Congressional candidate from Morris County.
He was predeceased by his daughter Lisa Kessler.
He is survived by his loving son Michael Preston Kessler, and friend and ex-wife, Susan P. Preston of Mendham, his children Greta Kessler, Vivian Israel, and Neil Kessler all of Pennsylvania, and three grandchildren. He is pre-deceased by his parents Lillian and Manny, his sister Linda Marshall and his brother Robert.
Arrangements are by Bailey Funeral Home in Mendham NJ. Friends will be received on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 from 3 - 5 pm.
