Obituary of Berthold Erich Herd

CHESTER TWP - Berthold Erich Herd died on Saturday September 22, 2012 at his home after a battle with cancer. He was 87 years old. Born in Germany on January 24, 1925, he was a resident of Chester Township for many years. He was employed by Komline Sanderson Corporation in Peapack NJ as a career welder with his good friend Sal Grievo. Mr. Herd was predeceased by his wife, Elfriede I. (Rudt) Herd in 2002, as well as three siblings. He is survived by by his sister Anneliese Just of Germany, as well as many nieces and nephews in Germany. He is also survived by his Dear Companion Anita Albers, Director of the Albrook School in Basking Ridge. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, September 27, 2012 from 1:30 to 2:30 PM. A graveside service will follow at Hilltop Cemetery in Mendham.
