Obituary of Sister Julitta Heinen

Sister Julitta Heinen, SCC entered into her eternal reward at Mallinckrodt Convent, Mendham, NJ on Tuesday, May 8. Sister was 81 years old. Sister Julitta (Anna) Heinen was born to Bernard Heinen and Anna Frieders on February 18, 1931 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, the oldest of four children. She entered the Juniorate as a high school student in 1944, was invested as a novice on August 21, 1947, and pronounced her Perpetual Vows on August 20, 1955. During her 65 years of religious life, the primary ministry of Sister Julitta was education on all levels from elementary school through the college level. She taught in many schools throughout PA, CT and NJ. Sister was principal of Immaculate Conception High School and later President of Assumption College for Sisters in the Motherhouse. She was a directress for the Junior Professed Sisters and also served as a Provincial Councilor. Sister Julitta is survived by two brothers, Father Francis Heinen, Joseph Heinen and his wife, Joan from Savannah, Georgia along with many nieces and nephews. The Mass of the Resurrection will be offered on Friday, May 11 at 10:30 AM at the Sisters of Christian Charity Motherhouse, Mallinckrodt Convent, 350 Bernardsville Rd., Mendham. The viewing will take place in the convent chapel on Thursday, May 10, from 3:00 to 9:00 PM with a Vesper Service at 7:00 PM.
