Obituary of Norma J. Boin

Norma Jackson Boin, 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, April 17, 2012. She was born September 9, 1920 in Chatham, NJ. The fourth of five sisters born to Seward and Gwen Jackson. After graduating from Chatham High School she went on to graduate with a B.A. in economics from Douglass College in 1942. She began her career and training at IBM and then went on to work at Warner Lambert. During that time she fell in love and married Warren E. Boin, Sr. of Madison, NJ whose family owned Boin Arts & Crafts. During the next 20 years she devoted her time to raising her family and was involved with both The Presbyterian Church of Morristown and the Young Republicans Club. After raising her family Norma re-entered the workplace and applied her skills and talents to helping families and charitable organizations with their financial planning. During this time she worked for Renyx Field and Company and was awarded "Man of the Month." She went on to work for both Rutgers University and the YWCA before retiring in 1981. She and her husband spent the remainder of her life enjoying world cruises and their many friends including those involved with Barbershop singing. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Warren E. Boin, Sr.; three children, Warren E. Boin, Jr., Whitney E. Boin, and Jennifer Boin Getz and their six grandchildren, Warren, Max, Dakota, Caroline, Monroe, and Sterling. A funeral services will be held on Friday (time to be announced) at Restland Memorial Park Chapel, East Hanover.
