Obituary of Christine R. Bockoven

Christine Ruth Bockoven died peacefully on March 9, 2009 with her family by her side. She was 56. Born in Newark, she lived in Clark, then Chester, NJ before moving to Brookside in 1974. She was a 1974 Graduate of Cedar Crest College in Allentown, PA. Christine worked as a Development Associate and Payroll Specialist for the Seeing Eye, Inc. in Morristown for the last 5 years. She previously owned Herbs and Everlastings, where she grew and marketed dried flowers at the Bockoven family farm in Brookside for many years. Her family will remember her as a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister and grandmother who was devoted to her family, and happiest when spending time with her girls. She always has been, and will continue to be, recognized as the kindest and most selfless person by everyone who knew her. Survivors include her husband Doug Bockoven of Brookside, three daughters Kellie Ferrara of Chester and her husband Brian, Lindsay Bockoven of Morris Plains, and Katie Bockoven of Brookside, one granddaughter Halle Christine Ferrara, her mother Marion Rames and two brothers Geoffrey Rames of Ft. Lauderdale and Clifford Rames of Palmetto Bay, FL. She is also survived by her mother-in-law Florence Bockoven of Brookside and brother-in-law Donald Bockoven of Chester. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd., Mendham. Funeral Service Saturday 11am at The Brookside Community Church., Main St. Brookside.
