Obituary of Doris W O'Connor

Doris (Dolly) W. O'Connor died peacefully on Feb. 8, 2012 at Sunrise Assited Living in Basking Ridge. She was 93. Born in Philadelphia to the late John Wein and Wilhelmina Dreeman, she lived in Schwensksville PA, Martinsville NJ and Bowmansville PA before moving to Gladstone in 2006. During War World II Mrs. O'Connor worked for the Army Ordnance. Then she worked at Curtis Publishing and Willy's Jeep. Mrs. O'Connor's last professional position was an Executive Assistant to the President of Packard Motor Cars in the late 1950s. Over the years Mrs. O'Connor volunteered at various organizations: She was a volunteer at the Martinsville Library from 1974 till 1983. Volunteered for Girls Scouts, a member of the Bridgewater Woman's Club during the 70's and 80's. In the 90's was a member of the Women's Club of Ephrata PA. Her family will remember her as a loving Mother and Grandmother who loved to read, golf, travel and entertain. Her husband Joseph F. O'Connor predeceased her. Survivors include one son Brian O'Connor and his wife Linda Evans O'Connor of West Milford; one daughter Lisa O'Connor Talamini and her husband Raymond of Gladstone and her three grandchildren Sam and Jill Talamini and Grace O'Connor. The family will receive friends at the Talamini home, 15 Deer Path, Gladstone, on Saturday from 3-5pm. A memorial service will be held at 4pm.
