I was just 17 when I first met my favourite Brother-in-law. There really is not enough time or space for me to recall all the magical moments Phil, Rita, Dave and myself shared along with Elsie, Phil & Dave’s Mum and believe me we had so many like Phil wanted to go fishing, we all set off and it was obvious Rita didn’t want to go so Dave giving him directions, directed him to the beach, well you can imagine the air turned blue for a little while but we all ended up having a lovely day at the beach.
One Saturday Phil was doing some electrical work for his Mum. He told her that he had to turn the electricity off at the mains so that he could do the work, he started working, about half an hour in, Mum put the kettle on for tea he says. We couldn’t keep straight faces as dear Elsie couldn’t understand why the kettle wouldn’t boil. I’ll have a look at it in a minute Mum he says but put the telly on so I can hear the football, well you can imagine the air turned blue because the telly wasn’t working. I’m afraid I let the cat out of the bag as I was laughing so much I just couldn’t stop. I was 7 months pregnant at the time and Elsie thought I might go into Labour. It really was so funny, you had to be there but that was what our lives were, full of laughter and joy even more so when the children came along.
I am so glad you were in my life Phil it was a much better place for your being so.
Love always
Linda

He was the best hugger ever .
I was 14 years old when Rita and Phil met each other and he was like a brother I never had , he loved to tease me
I was a bridesmaid when he and Rita married.
And when we had children we would meet up regularly and the children Mark , Jamie. Louise and Claire played together. .
I remember staying for a week at his bungalow and he brought me a cup of tea every morning.
I have many happy memories of him .
He maybe gone , but I will always remember him . Kiss, Kiss
