Obituary of Ronald C Weiss

Ronald C. Weiss, 90, passed away Monday, December 2, 2024. 

Born in Newark NJ in 1934 to Madeline (Ehrick) Lancaster and Charles Phillip Weiss, he spent his young life in Essex/Union Counties, but lived the majority of his life in Pottersville, NJ where he raised his family before moving to Laurel Circle in Bridgewater, NJ. There he spent the remainder of his days painting, being social, mentoring newcomers and reading. 

After attending Pratt Art institute in NY and working at Chubb Insurance, where he met his wife, he followed his entrepreneurial spirit by starting his own insurance business before working for Meadowbrook Inventions in Bernardsville NJ until his retirement. 

Ron was an active member in the church community and served in many capacities throughout the years, including Master Mason,1969. His faith brought him strength and comfort throughout his life and in death.  He continued his stewardship at Laurel Circle where helped organize a monthly Presbyterian service.

He lived a good long life and everyone who knew Ron loved him.  His quick-witted sense of humor was endearing, and he had many friends who enjoyed his company and will miss him greatly. 

He is predeceased by his loving wife of 66 years Carole; and is survived by his four sons, Jeffrey (Billie) Weiss, Brian (Julia) Weiss, Eric (Stacy) Weiss and Paul Weiss; seven grandchildren, Erika (Tanner) Timmons, Ryan (Breanna) Weiss, Morgan Weiss, Andrew Weiss, Paul James Weiss, Otto Weiss, Jonah Weiss; and one great grandchild; Skye Ryan Weiss. 

To honor Ron’s wishes, services will be private.  Interment will be at the Lamington Presbyterian Church.
