Muriel Sinfelt

Obituary of Muriel J Sinfelt

Muriel J. Sinfelt passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her side on June 14, 2024. She was 95 years old.

Born in Elizabeth, NJ, to parents Herbert and Irene (Lieblein) Vadersen, Muriel lived in Berkeley Heights before settling in Tewksbury Township in 1981. She was a longtime parishioner of the Fairmount Methodist Church.

As a teenager and young woman, Muriel was an avid sailor. She was a highly competitive racer and a member of the Barnegat Bay Yacht Racing Association. Her family had a cottage in Ocean Gate, N.J., which was only a short walk to the bay. She spent many happy summers there with cherished family and friends.

She married the love of her life, John Sinfelt, on July 14, 1956. Their marriage spanned 55 beautiful years in which they built a life together and raised their family, until John’s passing in 2011. She was a voracious reader, preferring books on politics, biographies, history, and true crime. She loved her “house in the woods” (as she referred to her home) where she enjoyed nature and gardening.

She adored her pet cats, Zach, BooBoo, and Whitey. They gave her companionship, comfort, and fun in the years following John’s death.

Muriel is predeceased by her beloved husband, John Sinfelt, and is survived by her son Klaus Sinfelt, daughter-in-law Sara Isaacs Sinfelt, nephew Mark Seinfelt, niece Bronwen Seinfelt, and brother-in-law Frederick Seinfelt. She will be dearly missed by all.

Muriel will be laid to rest with John on Tuesday, June 25, at 12 noon at the Allport Cemetery, 101 Pleasant Meadow Dr., Morrisdale, PA 16858. In lieu of flowers, donations in Muriel’s memory may be made to St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center.
