Obituary of Rae C Hoffman
Rae Cronshey Hoffman passed away at her home on May 29, 2024. She was 85 years old.
Born in Morristown, NJ on June 9, 1938, to parents Keith and Grace (Fleming) Cronshey, Rae was raised in Tewksbury and Long Valley. She was a resident of Bernardsville for 62 years before returning to Long Valley 4 years ago. She was a longtime parishioner of Fairmount Presbyterian Church in Califon.
Rae designed and created formal wear and wedding dresses at Lemon Hill in Bernardsville for 25 years. Rae was a member of the Somerset Art Association, Tewksbury Historical Association and the Brookside Garden Club. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, infectious laughter, immense artistic talents, the beautiful way she cared for the ones she loved, the precision with which she set her dinner table, and the open heartedness with which she welcomed everyone to it.
Rae was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Travis Cronshey. She is survived by her sons, Eric (Mary) Hoffman and Kevin (Kate) Hoffman, daughter Amy Wiehl, sister Pamela (Tom) Kelly, her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and the countless others she adopted through love.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 24, at 11am at Fairmount Presbyterian Church, 253 Old Turnpike Rd, Califon, NJ 07830. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rae’s memory may be made to Fairmount Presbyterian Church 247 Old Turnpike Road, Califon, NJ 07830 or the Fairmount Firehouse 12 Parker Rd, Long Valley, NJ 07853.
