I had Sister for homeroom and French class at Morris Catholic High School (1975-79). We had some characters in our class those 4 years and sometimes she would get a bit “frazzled” by them. I always sat in the back because I was tall & could give her a silly face to make her smile.
We took a trip senior year to see The Little Prince and all of a sudden you could hear everyone sobbing when the snake bit the Prince. I started laughing and she gave me a scowling look… to which I whispered “Sister, it’s a boa constrictor… what’s it going to do, gum him to death?” We shared that moment the rest of the year.
In 2008, as an alumni, I went on a trip to Lourdes and Sister was at the bus to see me off. She said I had to go to the baths when I was there . She wanted a full report when I got back. Of course, I did go to the baths along with a few others in our group & it was an amazing experience - really life-changing. As instructed, I gave Sister the full story upon my return and we again shared another memorable moment that I have to cherish in my heart for my lifetime.
I recently returned from a Pilgrimage to Italy and wanted to share my experiences with Sister, which is why I am posting this now, as I didn’t know that she had passed. She was an amazing teacher and has left her stamp on my heart. Au revoir mon ami

I did not know Sr Mary Stanislaus had passed on last year, til I was looking on the internet for her. Her brother Joseph was my brother in law, through his marriage to my oldest sister.
Sr Mary Stanislaus used to visit my family in Klagetoh Arizona on the Navajo Indian reservation. She would spent a week or two on her vacation in Klagetoh. We very much enjoyed her company during those times.
RIP Sister Mary Stanslaus, and may the good Lord be by your side through enternity.
