Obituary of Mary Lou Grady

Mary Lou Grady passed away peacefully on March 8, 2024 at Holly Manor Center in Mendham. She was 86. Born in Scranton, PA, she lived most of her life in northern NJ.

Mary Lou attended Traphagen School of Fashion in New York City in the 1950s. Her early career was in sales for Max Factor Cosmetics and later in life she worked at Hyatt Clark Industries where she was proud to be one of the few women to work on a manufacturing line.

Mary Lou was a talented artist and painting was one of the great joys of her life. She was a lover of art, poetry, literature and an avid Scrabble player. She had great passion for social issues, politics, and women’s rights. She was a creative and beautiful woman who loved to face off with her grandson at the Scrabble board and spend time painting with her granddaughter.

She is predeceased by her parents Frank and Mary Grady and her sister Patricia Weber.

She is survived by her daughter Denise Belsky and son-in-law David Belsky of UT; grandson Matthew Lubin of Seattle, WA; granddaughter Cara Lubin of Mansfield, NJ; brother Frank Grady of CA; niece Alisa Soules of NJ; niece Debbie Fatzynytz of FL; and nephew Brad Weber of FL.

A memorial will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd., Mendham, NJ, at 11am. For those desiring, donations to the National Organization for Women or League of Women Voters would be appreciated. www.baileyfuneral.com
