Obituary of Carole P Saunders

Carole Lucia Saunders (nee Prezioso) of Wellington, FL and Mendham, NJ passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 29, 2023. Carole was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1946 and spent her childhood in Oradell, NJ. She graduated from River Dell High School and CW Post College where she met her devoted husband Carleton “Cardie” Saunders.

Anyone that met her knew she had a love of life and people. She enjoyed riding horses, going to the gym, and staying incredibly active. Carole also had an incredible love for art and music. She became a NJ state champion accordion player as a child and channeled her musical talent to learn piano, guitar, and even clarinet. However, most people will remember her for her singing. Never afraid to break into song at any event, she was always the life of the party.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Cardie, sons Gregory and his wife Liza, Cardie and his wife Eileen, four grandchildren: Kailee, Cardie, Sean and Sabrina, as well as many cousins, brother and sister in-laws, nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was predeceased by her parents Romeo and Marie Prezioso and her sister Diane Van Akin.

All services will take place at Bailey Funeral Home in Mendham, NJ. Visitation will be from 4-7pm on October 31st and the funeral at 10:30am on November 1st with lunch to follow at Mendham Golf & Tennis Club.
