Obituary of Dorothea G Russo

Dorothea G. Russo passed away on October 2, 2023. She was 88 years old.

Born in Raritan, NJ, to parents Joseph and Elizabeth (Gecik) Masler, she attended and graduated from Somerville High School and worked as the Bookkeeper for Gen. Russo Plumbing, the family business.

Dorothea met the love of her life, Lawrence Russo, and the two wed on February 2, 1955. They moved to Gladstone in 1961 to raise their family and grow a successful business, serving the Somerset and Morris Counties for 69 years. Dorothea was a woman of faith and was a longtime parishioner of St. Brigid Church in Peapack.  Dorothea was an avid reader.  Above all else, Dorothea was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a doting grandmother. Her family was her greatest accomplishment.

Dorothea is survived by her husband of 68 years, Lawrence Russo, sons Eugene (Debby) Russo and Joseph (Jill) Russo, daughters Lee Ann Russo and Linda (Paul) Kiss, 14 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her son Lawrence J. Russo Jr., brothers, Joseph, Vincent, and Adolph Masler, sister Helen, Theresa, Masler and Margaret Plesa.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 5, from 4-7 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, 176 Main Street, Peapack NJ 07977. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 6, at 11 AM at St. Brigid Church, 126 Main Street, Peapack. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothea’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association and the Peapack Gladstone Fire Compan
