Obituary of Frances Daffron Hagan

Frances Daffron Hagan passed away on September 27, 2023. She was 86 years old.

Born in Richmond, VA, to parents Hubert Aloysius and Ethlyn (Schmidt) Daffron, Frances lived in Hingham, MA, and Basking Ridge, NJ, before settling in Mendham for over 30 years. She was a woman of faith and a parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Mendham.

Frances lived in Mendham Commons and served her community as the Social Director. She worked for many years as an administrative assistant for Prudential. She was active with and donated to charities she believed in, such as Big Brother, Big Sister.

Frances loved to stay active and enjoyed tennis, biking, hiking, skiing, Bridge, gardening, and going to the theater. She was a member and supporter of both the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn and the McCarter Theater Center in Princeton, where she enjoyed going to see musicals and plays.

Frances is predeceased by her husband of seven years, the late Donald Hagan, and her husband of thirteen years, Walt Masnik. She is survived by her son, Dennis Samuel of Bradford, VT, daughters Sharon Boccadutre of Clinton, NJ, and Andrea McLaughlin and  husband Jeff of Barre, VT, sister and brother-in-law Jane and Jerry Cheadle of Roanoke, VA,  grandchildren Dana Berzankski and husband Mike and their daughter Teagan Berzanski, granddaughter Kelly Boccadutre and husband Joseph Lawrowski, granddaughters Erin Brewster of Falls Church, VA and Jennifer Weber of Califon, NJ.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 6th from 2-4 pm, at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Road, Mendham NJ, followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 4 pm. Please join the family and friends immediately following the service at the Black Horse Tavern & Pub, 1 W Main St, Mendham.   In lieu of flowers, donations in Frances’ memory may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters Individual Giving, 2502 N. Rocky Point Drive, Suite 550, Tampa, FL 33607  Plant a Tree in memory of Frances Hagan.
