Obituary of Russell F Hall
Russell F. Hall, (85), of Randolph, N.J., passed away August 21, 2023.
Russ was born to Charlotte and Norman Hall on May 13, 1938, in New Jersey. He grew up primarily in Fanwood, New Jersey, but also spent summers helping out on his grandparents’ farm in Indiana. During his time in Fanwood, Russ learned and took to heart the core value of helping one’s neighbor by giving back to the community, which would be the catalyst of his actions for the rest of his life. After graduating from Rutgers University in 1960, he served in the Navy and the Naval Reserve for six years and then later went on to earn his MBA from NYU.
Though Russ worked for many years in the banking industry in New York, he felt most fulfilled by the plethora of volunteer activities in which he became involved. Whether serving as the president of the H.S. Band Parents Association in order to encourage and support his daughter Beth’s musical interests, becoming a life member of the Randolph Rescue Squad, or working to fund and expand the Interfaith Food Pantry, Russ readily stepped in wherever he saw a need. Once retired, Russ was able to indulge in his altruistic nature by volunteering with several organizations based on providing affordable housing and food for the less fortunate.
Russ is survived by his wife of 62 years, Beverly, and one of his two daughters, Jo Ann. Visitation will be held from 4–8 pm on Friday, August 25, 2023, at Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Road, Mendham. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Interfaith Food Pantry Network.
