I didn't know Scott. However, I did meet him once, only briefly ... during a visit to his home, while in the company of his sister, Liza Mako. During my past visits to New Jersey from California, in conversation ... Liza often talked of the high regard she felt for her family and the loving feelings and respect she held especially for her brother, Scott (her favorite) and all the good and caring times they had shared over the years.
From his obituary, I've learned I have much in common with Scott. Because I share many of his qualities, I imagine he and I would have enjoyed each other's company and friendship. I regret Scotts passing, not just because of his loss to his family but also because I personally missed out ever getting to know him. Chalk that up to ships passing in the night, etc..
At this time, I want to send my heartfelt condolences to Liza, my cousin Chip Mako and Liza's remaining family.

Scott was always a great friend though good times and bad times. His quick grasp of reality always brought life into perspective. We shared a love of great music especially the blues, and had great times together. The world is a lonelier place without him. Luv ya and I’ll truly miss your postcards.

Scott was a special sole. Everyone that knew him loved him. He was charming, smart, and had a great wit. Most of all he was a true friend and never wavered in being 100% true to himself always real. He will be truly missed and always remembered!

I met Scott back in the 80's he was my best friend forever. He was one of the kindest souls and we had great times that I will ALWAYS treasure. He helped me out of a dark place and I will forever be grateful. Over the years we had such good times that I will cherish for all of my life! He was one of a kind and no doubt is living it up in heaven rocking away with all the greats and having meaningful conversations with Les Paul, Jimi, Stevie, BB King and the likes making them all laugh and dancing up a storm! Scott you will always be a part of me, rest easy my friend till we see each other again on the flip side!

I met Scott and Bear through my late wife Emily Markson. Scott and his buddy Bear were two iconic characters I had both the privilege and pleasure to have met.

Scotty you were one of a kind. Your love and knowledge of music was amazing. Even though you were in pain you never complained. You thought about others before yourself. You will be so missed.
