Mary Margaret “Peggy” Kavanaugh passed away peacefully on October 17, 2022. She was 83 years old.
Born in Elizabeth, NJ, to parents Thomas J. and Mary (Quirk) Clancy, Peggy attended and graduated from Thomas Edison College. She lived in Gladstone for 15 years before moving to Bedminster where she resided for the past 40 years. She was a woman of faith and an involved parishioner at both St. Brigid and St. Elizabeth Churches in Peapack and Far Hills.
Peggy was not only involved with her church community, where she was active with the St. Brigid women’s group, but also within her community, The Hills, in Bedminster. She was a founding member of the Tennis League in The Hills, Vice President of the Landscaping Committee, President of the Home Owner’s Association, and helped families find their dream homes as a licensed realtor.
Peggy was athletic, well-read, and fiercely independent. She was an avid reader, a student of finance who loved to read the Wall Street Journal, and a history buff. She will be remembered as a loving mother, a doting grandmother, and a friend to many.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Jack) Jackson, son, Daniel (Tami) Kavanaugh III, 4 grandchildren Salisa Jackson Garrand, Tyreke Jackson, Egan Kavanaugh and Dae Kavanaugh, 4 great-grand children, her sister, Kathleen “Cassie” Roty, nieces Lynn Sfanos and Susan (Tritschler) Winouski, nephews, Jamie Tritschler and Tim Roty. She is predeceased by her sister Eileen Tritschler.
