Andrew D. Zawacki died Saturday Feb 21, 2009 at his home in Stanhope. He was 65. Born and raised in Newark, he lived in Irvington, Parsippany and Mt. Olive before moving to Stanhope in 1998. Andy was a graduate of Arts High School in Newark and continued his education at various New Jersey Colleges. He worked as an Assembly Supervisor for Douglas Engineering in Rockaway for 10 years before retiring in 2002. He also worked in the same capacity for many years at Varityper in East Hanover and Body Guard Inc in Randolph. Andy was a fun loving guy who will be remembered as a well dressed man who enjoyed music and golf. He also was an avid bowler who was involved in various leagues over the years. Survivors include his wife Charlotte Drewes Zawacki of Stanhope and his cousin Barry Nikodem of Neptune. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10-11am at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd., Mendham. The funeral service will be on Thursday at 11am in the funeral home.
