Obituary of Michael R. Farina

Michael R. Farina, CPA, of Mendham, NJ and Jupiter FL passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Sunrise of Morris Plains.  He was 84.

Born in Patterson, NJ to parents Michael & Ada (Robino), Michael graduated from New York University in 1960 and then worked as an IRS Field auditor for several years. He went on to get his CPA License in 1967 and had a successful CPA practice in Morris County for over 45years.  

Mike enjoyed his work tremendously and in his retirement his hobbies became his job.  He took sailing lessons and loved to golf. He and his wife Geri enjoyed traveling to Europe, Australia and China. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He will be remembered for his passion for helping people, his infectious laugh and positive attitude.  He was greatly loved by all who knew him.

Mike is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years Geraldine “Geri” (Messina), son Michael and his wife Maryanne, two daughters: Michele Jennerwein and her husband James, Claudia Passaro and her husband Christopher Olsen and his five grandchildren: Matthew, Julia, Grace, Luke and Nathaniel.  He was predeceased by his first wife of 18 years Shirley (Skuba) and his sister Susie Stokes.  

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 14th from 3-5pm at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Road, Mendham, NJ. A funeral service will take place at 10:30am on Wednesday, June 15th at the funeral home.  Entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.  Donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Goryeb Children’s Hospital in his name would be appreciated.
