Obituary of Mary Ann C. Miller

Mary Ann C. Miller passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family, on February 8, 2022. She was 82 years old.

Born and raised in Newark, NJ, to parents Thomas and Minnie (nee Tobia) Carrick, Mary Ann moved to Succasunna in 1966. She was a woman of tremendous faith and was a longtime parishioner of St. Therese Parish in Succasunna.  She enjoyed being an executive secretary at Honeywell/Allied Signal before her retirement.

Mary Ann was interested in everything and afraid of nothing. Having graduated as Valedictorian from her high school, she was an intelligent woman who knew much about both technology and mathematics, often teaching her family how to use the newest gadgets. She was always up to speed on what was “new” and “cool,” and even flew out to Las Vegas to attend a P!nk concert. She was the ultimate hostess and threw the best parties, meticulous themed decorations and signature cocktails were an absolute must. Mary Ann was the life of the party, and while she knew how to have a good time, she was incredibly responsible, organized and family oriented, having cared for her mother and many relatives when in need. Her heart was huge, and it had to be, as she made friends wherever she went. Above all else, she cherished her family.  Every day, she’d be on the phone for hours with one of her many cousins, sisters, or friends.  Mary Ann loved sports, especially the Yankees, and knew more about baseball and the Yankee roster than most of the guys!  She was famous for her Christmas cookies, making so many they filled a huge freezer every year.  She was a joy to be with and her light will shine on in those that knew her.

Mary Ann is predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, the late Vincent William Miller, Sr., her daughter Lisa Zbikowski, brother Gerard Carrick, and her sister Judy VanSeters. She is survived by her son Vincent (Cathie) Miller, sister Josephine Corbo, grandchildren Nicholas, Brandon, Ryan, Justin, Allegra, and Vito, great grandchildren Wade, Cara, and Zoey.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 17, from 3-7 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd., Mendham NJ 07945. A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, February 18, at 10 AM at St. Therese Church, 151 Main St., Succasunna, NJ 07876. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary Ann’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital.
