Obituary of Ralph R. Weijlard, Sr.

Ralph R. Weijlard, Sr. passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on February 2, 2022. He was 88 years old.

Born in Rahway, NJ, to parents John and Edith (Steigler) Weijlard, Ralph lived in Long Valley, Mendham and Blairstown, NJ before settling in Jamestown, RI, 17 years ago. He was owner/operator Tempe-Wick Salon for 35 years, and owner of Video 13, both in Mendham, NJ. Ralph was also a NJ licensed realtor.

Ralph is predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years, Doris Weijlard, and is survived by his son, Ralph “Rick” R. Weijlard, Jr. and Daughter In-Law Tracey of Warwick, RI., Brother Bob and Sister In-Law  Eleanor Stephenson, three grandchildren, six nephews, and one niece.

Ralph enjoyed trips to New Hampshire, photography, tending to his garden and yard, but most of all, his family and friends. His greatest love was his wife Doris (“Dar-Dar,” as he called her) and they were always together.

Visitations will be held on Wednesday, February 9, from 5 PM to 7 PM and Thursday, February 10, from 10 AM to 12 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, 176 Main St, Peapack NJ 07977. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home immediately following visitation. Ralph will be laid to rest and join his wife Doris at Fairmount Cemetery in Tewksbury, NJ, in the spring.
