Mendham resident Bruce C. Dunham died on Friday, Jan 21. He was 85.
Bruce was a graduate of Morristown High School and Fairleigh Dickinson University. He taught grade school in the Parsippany Hills and Morristown school systems for more than 30 years and worked as an unemployment counselor for the New Jersey State Labor Department in his retirement.

Bruce was gentle and unpretentious, and quick to put everyone around him at ease with his good humor.
He will be remembered for his service to others, his love for all the children in his care, his ability to make anyone laugh, his baritone singing voice, and his devotion to the teachings of Christ.
Bruce is preceded in death by his brothers, Arnold and Wallace, and his sister, Charlotte D. McCall. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carolyn Allen Dunham, and his two children, David and Sarah Dunham.
