Obituary of Joseph V. Rizzo

Joseph V. Rizzo passed away peacefully on December 3, 2021. He was 81 years old.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Joe lived in Millington, Pottersville, Bernardsville, and Gladstone, NJ before moving to Pennsylvania. He was a member of St. John Fisher Church in the Lehigh Valley PA.

Joe was a 50-year member of the Vincent J. Rizzo Guild Opticians and served the Bernardsville area until his retirement in 2011. He was also a member of the Japanese Sword Society of the United States (JSSUS) involving himself in educational aspects within the community and overall arts of the Japanese culture.

He was predeceased by his parents, Vincent and Felicia (Pucillo) Rizzo, and his sister Felice Rizzo. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Angela Rizzo, daughter Reneé (Evan) Falcon, sons Matthew (Kelly) Rizzo, and Vincent Rizzo, brother Vincent P Rizzo and grandsons Zachary and Jonathan Rizzo.

Visitation will be held at Bailey Funeral Home, 176 Main Street, Peapack on Thursday, December 9^th from 9:30 – 11:30 am.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 9, at 12 noon at St. Brigid Church, 129 Main St, Peapack NJ 07977. Entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Basking Ridge to follow immediately.
