Obituary of Richard Connell

Richard Connell passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on August 14, 2021. He was 92 years old.

Born on The Penobscot, a boat en route to Nantucket Island, to parents Wilfred and Marion (Gowetz) Connell, Richard attended and graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute of Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Science in 1950. He joined the Army Signal Corp and served his country during the Korean War.

Richard met and married Jessica Marcia Ricker in 1956, beginning a family of his own. In 1973, they moved to New Jersey where Richard worked as the Vice President of W&H Conveyor in Carlstadt, a job that he held until his retirement. He was a selectman for Northborough, MA, a Freemason in Natick, MA, and a proud member of the Pastime Club in Mendham, NJ. Richard was an avid reader with an extraordinary memory. Through his adult life, he enjoyed learning, taking video classes and watching many documentaries.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Marcia Connell of Mendham, son Martin (Kristin) Connell and granddaughter Katherine Grace of Succasunna, daughter Joyce Connell (Bruno) Liberti of Ticonderoga, NY, brother David Connell of Connecticut, and Tom, Jennifer, and Gioia Connell.
