Obituary of Charlotte A Furman
Charlotte A. Furman of The Commons, Mendham, NJ passed away peacefully on July 21 at Brightview Senior Living in Randolph, NJ which had been her home for the past eleven months. She was 81 years old.
Charlotte was born on March 24, 1940 in Staten Island, NY. She attended Wagner College on Staten Island and graduated with the magna cum laude honor.
Charlotte was pre-deceased by her parents, William N. Furman and Marion Furman (Moran). Charlotte was also recently pre-deceased by her long-time best friend and caregiver, Joan C. Rice.
Charlotte had a long and successful career as an executive in the Insurance field working for Home Life Group, Anthem Benefit Services and Beneficial prior to her retirement.
Charlotte loved all animals, especially dogs and had several during her lifetime. She enjoyed reading, music and traveling to places near and far. She and Joan took many trips together and Charlotte was always anxious to share the many photos of their adventures with family and friends over a good meal and a good glass of wine.
Charlotte leaves behind to mourn her loss her cousins, Robert E. Furman of Owego, NY and his sons Scott, Gregory and Todd and their families, William and Kathy (Furman) Andrews of Williamston, SC and their children Lynn, Carolyn and James and their families, William N. Furman, his wife Jean and daughter Kaitlin of Fairport, NY and Linda F. Mumber and her husband John of Allentown, NJ. She will also be missed by many dear friends and neighbors.
A graveside committal service will be held on Wednesday, July 28, at 11:30 AM at Hilltop Cemetery, 18 Hilltop Rd., Mendham NJ 07945.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to your favorite charity, St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center in Madison, NJ or The Alzheimer’s Association, 425 Eagle Rock Avenue, #203 Roseland, NJ 07068.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Brightview and Ennoble Care Hospice for the care and compassion they provided Charlotte during the past months.
