Obituary of Thomas Wahl
Thomas P. Wahl passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at the age of 95. Born on April 28, 1926, the youngest of three children of Frederick and Julia Wahl of Roselle, NJ, he was predeceased by his brother Fred and sister Dorothy. Tom was a veteran of WWII. At the age of seventeen he enlisted in the Navy and served in the Submarine Corps as a radioman in the Pacific. After the war he married Madeline Dominick and had three sons; Thomas Jr., Robin and Dale.
Tom and Madeline relocated to Mendham, NJ in 1961 where they resided for 48 years. They celebrated 52 years together before Madeline passed away in February 2003. Tom coached little league and was a lifetime member of the Mendham Pastime Club. He enjoyed an active life which included hunting, fishing, golf and tennis. He was a member of the Mendham Golf and Tennis Club for many years. During his twenty year career at Sandoz Pharmaceuticals, Tom attained positions of increasing responsibility and retired as Director of Research Administration in 1981. He enjoyed forty years of retired life. He and Madeline especially enjoyed traveling and golfing together.
Tom’s oldest son, Tommy, passed away in May 1985. He is survived by Robin and Donna of Lewes, DE; Dale and Judy of Houston, TX; his two grandchildren, Kathryn Hawpe and Garrett Wahl and his great grandson, Malakhi Hawpe all of Colorado Springs, CO.
Tom said he lived a full and happy life. We will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2020 from 2:00-5:00 PM at Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd, Mendham, NJ 07945. Burial service will be held at a later date.
