Obituary of Scott S. Specht

Scott S. Specht, 57 Scott passed away suddenly on Monday, August 22, 2011, at the home he loved in Mendham, he was 57 years old. Scott was born in Somerville; he grew up in Morris Township an graduated from Morristown High School in 1973. Scott has resided in Mendham for the past 31 years. In 1975, Scott became a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 825, Springfield. In 1978, Scott founded Scartone Excavating and Paving of Morristown. From 1980-2001, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Crisdel Construction Group on South Plainfield. In April 2011, Scott and his wife Linda purchased Fastsigns of East Hanover. Scott loved Fastsigns and worked tirelessly to service clients and to help others. Scott loved his family, collecting comic books, entertaining, card playing, hunting and swimming. Scott had many friends and business associates who he enjoyed spending time with. Scott will be missed by many. Scott was predeceased by his father, William B. Specht in 2003 and his brother and sister-in-law Billy and Carla Pagano Specht in 1973. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Linda Cresitello Specht and his children Sal Specht and Scarlett Specht Vaglio and her husband Peter. Scott is also survived by his mother Bette Lou Specht, his sisters and their husbands; Shelly and Sean Benetin, Patty and Paul Fetyko and Ginger and her fiance Ed, his cousins Dennis, Margaret, Cherilyn, Dennis and Sandi Specht. Further, he is survived by Linda's cousins' Joseph, Michael and Donald Cresitello, Carmen D'Annunzio, Judy Binner and their families. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8pm at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Road, Mendham. Funeral Service Friday 10am in the Funeral Home. Interment at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge.
