Obituary of Robert John Denig
Robert J. Denig passed away on February 17, 2021. He was 89 years old.
Born in Jamaica, Queens, New York to parents John and Marion (Bagshaw) Denig, Robert lived in Bayside NY, and various places in NY, NJ and PA before settling in Mendham NJ in 1961. He moved to Chester NJ in 1968, where he resided until his death.
Robert attended the State University of New York at Cobleskill, taking an agricultural Associates Degree in Applied Science.
Robert was an entrepreneur and owned and operated his own business, Pocono Landscape Service, for over 30 years. He was an avid reader and enjoyed talking about politics with his friends and family. He loved to travel, visiting 49 of the 50 states. He especially loved the Olympic Peninsula in Washington. Robert was predeceased by his parents, John and Marion Denig, his wife of 54 years, Mary E. (Garvey) Denig and his daughter, Karen E. (Denig) Bockoven.
Robert is survived by his brother Donald E. Denig Sr. and his sister Mary Lou DiFazio and her husband Salvatore, sister-in-law Judith Boxley and her husband Thomas; son Robert O. Denig and wife Cynthia, daughter Eleanor D. Marin and partner, Marc Mauro, son John E. Denig and wife Emily; his grandchildren, Colin Denig, Michael Bockoven, Nathaniel Denig, Sara Marin, Andrew Denig and Lindsey Denig; his great-grandchildren, Simon, and Ray Denig; and many nieces and nephews.
